Soviets announce new psychos only policy for Mars2/23/1983
Life on Mars is very dangerous, and it is very common for people to stop functioning psychologically when their loved ones keep dying around them. Soviet psychologists have concluded that people with psychopathy do not have this problem. They seem to get energized when they witness death and suffering says Dr, Pluchovskij of Leningrad University. The Soviet space agency has therefore started screening applicants for Mars colonization for psychopathy, and only those with psychopathic personalities will be allowed to settle Mars. Concerns have been raised that this may lead to a society of psychopaths on Mars, but the Soviet government says it's just too expensive to keep sending people to Mars who later become unproductive due to psychological distress. |
